Made it Through 3 Weeks!

Hi Y'all!
We hope everyone is doing well down there in the south! We made it through 3 weeks so far with this past week being the hardest. I started up work and school which means Kristan is home alone with Emma now. Needless to say it has been buuuusy so far. I have enough homework to last me the rest of the semester and possibly even next! I am definitely blessed with an amazing and awesome wife for letting me go to school and work on homework while she cleans the house, takes care of the baby, cooks, and does laundry. There would have been no way I could be here if it wasn't for her sacrifice and devotion to me and especially God's direction in our lives. I love my wife!

Well as I mentioned above I started up the job. It is a 50 hour work week which is nice because I will be getting paid overtime, but it will be a lot of hours for juggling school and the family. The Lord has provided though so I have to keep reminding myself to have a grateful heart. Be in prayer for me to witness to my boss as he is a mormon. We had a few theological debates which ended where he changed the subjects but pray that I am a light to him with my life and words.

Kristan and I found a midwife this past week! We really like her and the amenities she offers, such as massages, chiropractic care, and various other things. Kristan is excited. However they don't offer a husband package that gives me a massage so I want to keep looking around :) jk. We also liked her facility she was at so if for some reason we weren't able to do the home birth we have a 2nd option to do it at the birthing center. This place had a huge jacuzzi tub. It was basically a birthing hotel!

Also, continue to pray for us in following God's direction on finding a church. We have been to a couple of churches we like and are seeking to where God wants to fit us in to serve Him, the body, and for our family to grow. We really miss Summercreek though and decided all of y'all just need to move up here and let's do church.

As always, please let us know how we can be praying for you all and feel free to comment! We want to be updated and see how everyone is doing! Thank you for your love, prayers, and support.

The Second Week

Hey all!
Well we made it through a second week in Cowboy country. We have everything unpacked and are settled in! We have met most of our neighbors by now and all seem like nice people. We got to visit Susan Keller's (Doug's mom) home church this past Sunday and enjoyed meeting everyone there.

I haven't started at work yet, but it is still in the works. I did have the interview last week and it lasted about 4 hours. Yes, it's true...that is not a mistype. My future boss and I discussed the job for about an hour and the remainder of the time we discussed theology. He is a devout Mormon so we had plenty to discuss :) Please be in prayer on my witness to him and teaching the truth of Scripture to him. Hopefully by the end of the week I will be an employed man again. Thanks for your prayers on this! Although I won't complain because the rest and relaxation before school has been nice. Our batteries are recharged and now we are ready to begin the busy journey here in Seminary.

Kristan has started the nasty and dirty task of washing the cloth diapers by hand. She has figured out a system that works really well and saves us a lot of money. We were using the washer and dryer here but Emma broke out in a chemical burn from the different detergents used by everyone in the washing machine. We either had the choice of not being able to use the cloth diapers and buying disposables or hand washing the cloths. Needless to say the much cheaper option was the best choice.

Well not much else to update on. Thank you all for your prayers and please continue to pray for us to follow God's direction and guidance here in Ft. Worth. As always, please let us know updates on you and how we can pray for you!

The First Blog

Hey Y'all!
Kristan and I decided to start a small blog to help keep in contact with everyone! The purpose of this blog will be not only for us to let y'all know how we are doing and how God is working in our lives, but for you to leave comments and tell us how you are doing, prayer needs, or just to say hey. We hope to update on a weekly basis (Kristan will anyways :))

Well we are on day 3 in Fort Worth, TX and quickly learned 250 miles of distance makes a tremendous difference in temperature. It is stinkin 42 degrees now, whereas Houston is 65 degrees! Who knew moving to the North in Texas made such a difference! Hopefully we get used to it since we are Texas Yankees now.

We have been slowly unpacking and have knocked out the majority of the boxes. AND WE HAVE FIT EVERYTHING!!! If anyone needs help condensing down when you move, we have plenty of experience. Going from 1250sq ft to 640sq ft is not fun.

The actual move went smooth. Thanks to everyone who helped us in the move!!! We greatly appreciate your help and could not have done it without you! Thank you for your love and serving heart through Christ. Special thanks to the insane people (JuanJose and Doug) for coming all the way to Fort Worth to help us unpack. You guys are awesome and we are so grateful for what you did!

Well I signed up for classes and Lord willing start work next week. I won't go into the details but God has opened sooooo many doors for us to be here. It is incredible to see the way God moved everything in His perfect timing. He is truly an awesome God who has directed us and provided for us everything we needed.

Kristan is excited because they have an excellent shopping area similar but bigger to 1960. We have already explored some of Fort Worth and compared to Houston is tiny! It is so small there are no loops (such as 610 or beltway 8). Emma is also adjusting well. It didn't take her long to learn the apartment. especially the kitchen. That girl must have hit a growing spurt because she eats all day long!

Well I will finish this thing up here with a thank you for praying for us. Again, God gets all the praise for everything. Thank you for supporting us in this move and we really really miss you guys very much. This Sunday was very difficult for us because we were desperate to be in worship with our amazing church family. Please continue to pray for us and our new journey the Lord has directed us to. Also, definitely let us know how we can pray for you. If you have no prayer needs, then let us know how you are doing!

In the Love of Christ,
Chris, Kristan, Emma, and Baby Hendrix
